Comments -- Biomineralization -- incorporating in very small abounts of calcium, iiron or even copper -- can make tissues tough enough to function as teeth. An interesting article on this subject: High abrasion resistance with sparse mineralization: copper biomineral in worm jaws. Science vol 298 11 Oct 2002 p389.
